I enjoy taking photos to capture a moment or the essence of a place or thing. The world inspires me with its unusual shapes, magnificant colours and natural patterns. Photography is, even now, a new art medium and is still finding its place in the creative world. This is even more true with the introduction of digital art forms and digital photography.I have recently started to take analogue more seriously and am lucky enough to have a wonderful mentor and partner, Ian Land, who continues to teach and guide me through the process.
I have produced a couple of books, these are available from Blurb
Focal Point

The focal point of an image is where the eyes will be drawn to, where they will repeatedly return to and eventually rest. The impact of a picture will be enhanced when the focal point has been recognised and taken into consideration before the shutter is released. Sometimes the focal point is obvious, for example in a portrait it is mostly the eye which will be drawn to; and sometimes the focal point is not obvious, for example the vanishing point of converging lines – where there appears to be nothing, but the eye is still drawn to that point.
