Brandenburg Gate.  A man waits, everyone else moves.

Unter den Linden.  People cross the road.

Brandenburg Gate.  Most irregular.  Storm Troopers salute.

Tiergarten.  Romance isn't dead.

Reichstag.  Man in hat.

Hohenschönhausen Lichtenburg Black and White

Corridors of the East German Ministry of State Security or 'Stasi' prison.

More interview rooms than inmates, for psychological effect.  Politcal prisoners and those seeking to escape to the West were pychologically tortured.

Tiger cages.  Outdoor exercise cages for prisoners.

Hohenschönhausen Lichtenburg Colour

The whole area around the prison closed to the public.  1951-1989.

Cells in the basement.  Outside cells too cold, inside cells too warm.  No sitting down, leaning agains the wall or lying on the bed.  Round the corner is the water torture chamber room.

Courtyard only seen by officials. Some even used to have picnics here!
